9am registration for 9.30am start.

The conference will include guest speakers from within several multi-agency disciplines, all of whom have experience of dealing with some or all aspects of Honour Based Violence and its associated impact upon victims, families, communities. The conference will conclude with a panel based question and answer session.

Aims of the Conference

  • To raise awareness of legislation and procedure in respect of Honour Based Violence, Forced Marriage and Female Genital Mutilation.
  • To highlight the need for agencies to adopt a right first time approach to dealing with Honour Based Violence,Forced Marriage and Female Genital Mutilation.
  • To encourage a partnership approach to safeguarding women and girls from Honour Based Violence, Forced Marriage and Female Genital Mutilation.
  • To explore solutions in respect of overcoming cultural barriers and engaging with hard to reach BME communities.
